Protect the Land, Build the Future

Ghana is not a problem to be solved. It is a legacy to be built.

The Land & Legacy Collection — a debut by Dr. Godwin Kojo Ayenor. Gold or Life? and From Fields to Fortunes — one vision. One blueprint. One nation worth investing in.

This is not a book launch. This is a blueprint.

the story behind the story - and why now?

Ghana has some of the most fertile land on the continent. Rivers that feed communities. Youth with ambition. Farmers who know their soil. A history of resilience that the world has not fully reckoned with yet.

Dr. Godwin Kojo Ayenor has spent over 30 years inside that story — not observing it from the outside, but working within it. In communities. In ministries. In the field and in the data. He has seen what works, what fails, and — most importantly — what is still possible.

He wrote two books because the opportunity is too big for one.

Gold or Life? names what must be protected. From Fields to Fortunes shows exactly how to build what comes next.

Together, they are not a warning. They are a roadmap — for investors, policymakers, institutions, and leaders who are ready to take Ghana seriously.

Gold or Life? Illegal Mining and the Fight for Ghana's Land, Youth and Legacy

Illegal Mining and the Fight for Ghana’s Land, Youth, and Legacy

Ghana’s land is one of its greatest assets. And right now, that asset is under pressure.

Gold or Life? goes beyond the headlines to examine what is actually at stake — the governance systems, the rural livelihoods, the youth futures, and the long-term economic cost of short-term extraction. This is not a book about what Ghana is doing wrong. It is a book about what Ghana must protect — and how to do it with strategy, accountability, and dignity.

Dr. Ayenor doesn’t just name the challenge. He maps the response.

You'll come away understanding:

  • Why land protection is an economic and investment priority — not just an environmental one
  • How governance, youth livelihoods, and food security are connected to the same system
  • What realistic enforcement and restoration actually look like in practice
  • How degraded land creates long-term economic risk for communities and investors alike
  • The practical pathways that restore dignity, create livelihoods, and protect Ghana’s future

02

From Fields to Fortunes: The Strategy Behind Africa Feeding Itself and the World

Africa is not short on potential. It is short on systems that deliver.

From Fields to Fortunes is the honest, strategic conversation that investors, policymakers, and development partners have been waiting for — written by someone who has sat in the ministry meetings, walked the farm plots, reviewed the failed programmes, and still believes, with evidence, that it is absolutely possible to get this right.

This is not inspiration. This is architecture.

You'll come away understanding:

  • The blueprint for food systems that perform in the real world — not just on paper
  • How agriculture becomes genuinely profitable when treated as a business, not a subsidy
  • What coordination, financing, and accountability actually require in practice
  • How to connect farmers to markets through systems, not slogans
  • Why well-funded programmes fail — and the design principles that fix them

The Land + Legacy Collection Bundle

Some problems need to be understood before they can be solved.

Gold or Life? gives you the understanding. From Fields to Fortunes gives you the solution. That’s why we call it the “complete blueprint”!

Most readers who start with one will come back for the other. The bundle puts both in your hands from the start — and saves you money doing it.

Perfect for:

  • Investors and agribusiness leaders who want strategy, not slogans
  • Development partners designing programmes that actually deliver
  • Policymakers and government advisors who need the full picture
  • Universities and educators building the next generation of thinkers
  • Chiefs, community leaders, and citizens who are ready to act

About the Author

Godwin Kojo Ayenor, PhD

Author + International Development Expert

Dr. Godwin Kojo Ayenor is not writing about Ghana from the outside. He is writing from inside three decades of work — evaluating programmes, advising institutions, walking farm plots, and sitting with communities that are doing everything right and still waiting for the systems to catch up.

He is the CEO of STRED Consult Limited, and his work spans agricultural policy, rural livelihoods, and programme evaluation across Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa — in partnership with institutions including the World Bank, USAID, FAO, GIZ, UNDP, ILO, IFC, and the EU.

He is a champion for Ghana. Not because he ignores the challenges — but because he has spent his career building the solutions.

These books are the evidence.
