Three decades on the land — and counting.

Dr. Godwin Kojo Ayenor has spent thirty years where policy meets soil. From the cocoa belt of Ghana to the boardrooms of development finance, his work has carried one steady idea: the land is not a resource to be spent. It is a legacy to be governed.

A career built on one question.

How do we feed a continent, build its wealth, and protect its land — at the same time?

Dr. Ayenor has answered that question across thirty years of fieldwork, advisory roles, and applied research in Ghana and across Africa. His doctoral work at Wageningen University in the Netherlands focused on participatory action research with cocoa farmers — pioneering organic and integrated pest management approaches that put farmer knowledge at the center of agricultural reform, rather than at the margins of it.

That principle — that sustainable land use cannot be imposed from above, only built with the people who live on it — has shaped every chapter of his work since. As an International Finance Corporation consultant, he trained farmers across northern Ghana on the Warehouse Receipt System, helping them use their grain as collateral and transform their bargaining power. As Deputy Chief Economist of Development Bank Ghana, he worked to bridge the chasm between private capital and the agricultural sector, designing the conditions under which long-term investment could flow to the people who actually grow the country's food.

Today, as CEO of STRED Consult Ltd., he leads a team of experts delivering practical, evidence-based solutions to governments, donors, and private investors working on Africa's most consequential land-use questions: how to finance sustainable agriculture, how to govern natural resources without destroying them, how to keep youth on productive land, and how to turn decades of policy failure into a workable future.

Thirty years, verified.

Dr. Ayenor's career has moved between three worlds that rarely meet: rigorous academic research, the on-the-ground reality of African farms, and the financial institutions that shape what is possible. Each role has informed the next.

Two books. One argument.

In May 2026, Dr. Ayenor releases The Land & Legacy Collection — a pair of companion volumes that bring three decades of field experience into a single, urgent argument for the people who can still change the trajectory: policymakers, investors, and the African diaspora with the means to act.

Volume One

Gold or Life?

Illegal Mining and the Fight for Ghana's Land, Youth, and Legacy

The story of what is being lost to galamsey — not in abstract numbers, but in farms, rivers, futures, and the slow erosion of an inheritance that was meant to be passed forward.

Volume Two

From Fields to Fortunes

The Strategy Behind Africa Feeding Itself and the World

The companion case for what comes next — a working strategy for sustainable agricultural investment, food sovereignty, and the rebuilding of the land's productive capacity.
